Managing a large number of field staff will always be a challenge especially when it comes to getting paperwork in on time, deciphered and processed.
The biggest one you're probably on the hook for is time sheets - Hundreds of paper timesheets or dockets coming in every week, poor hand writing, missing people, times forgotten, breaks not recorded, blurry photos or damaged pages... (I'm getting having flashbacks and getting anxious thinking about it while I'm writing this... )
You're probably also doing weekly payroll because their casual and its nice to make sure people have $ in their account - but how hard it is to get the damn time sheet in on time, in a reasonable condition for you to pay them?!
I was asked the other day, why am I giving this away:

You probably have an ERP that deals with your bookings, rostering & allocating equipment - you may not, you might be using a whiteboard or a spreadsheet still, either way, if you are still using paper time sheets or dockets to get shift times from your staff - this will solve a heap of problems for your operations guys and payroll.
The form is pretty basic: job details, who was on site, times they worked, breaks, signature of the person filling it out and one from the client to verify the hours for invoicing... Pretty simple.
